Kellie Ind

Executive Member and Principal of Box Hill High School

About Kellie

Kellie has been at Box Hill High School for more than 20 years, and contributed to the development and rigor of the Box Hill High School Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) program from its early days at the school.

Following in the steps of Principal Kate Mitchell, who introduced the program to the school, Kellie has been actively involved in maintaining rigor in the selection process and ensuring a curriculum program that includes both enrichment and acceleration.

Kellie holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Psychology, a Diploma of Education (Secondary Teaching), and a Masters in Educational Leadership. She has also completed post graduate studies in Gifted Education.

A passionate advocate for social justice, Kellie is committed to providing an appropriate education for students that caters for their learning needs – and this is equally relevant for gifted and talented students as for the students who have other learning needs.

Being part of a wider network of acredited SEAL Schools enables Kellie to build connections with schools that have similar students, and provides the opportunity for the SEAL Coordinator and teachers to collaborate and learn from others. Kellie would love to see strong connections also formed between students in SEAL programs in schools across the state.

Kellie enjoys art, philosophy, history and politics, and it brings her a lot of joy to see young people also discovering their creative passions and developing their ideas about the world.
