The Academy of Accredited SEAL Schools (TAASS) is a collective of like-minded schools who strongly value Gifted Education in Victorian Government secondary schools. SEAL Academy schools offer engaging accelerated programs for their groups of gifted students. They meet regularly to share and learn from each other’s experiences of their gifted education programs. SEAL Academy schools offer their teaching staff an extensive professional development program in Gifted Education, and, through their networks, can source outstanding educators for their programs.
SEAL Academy has its origins in Victoria’s long-standing commitment to gifted education. Victorian government secondary schools have offered specialised accelerated-learning programs for highly able students since 1980, with the Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) model expanding across metropolitan and regional Victoria in the decades that followed. In late 2014, accredited SEAL schools formed the Academy of Accredited SEAL Schools (TAASS) to support consistent quality, collaboration and innovation across their programs. Today, SEAL Academy brings together participating government secondary schools to provide challenging, enriching and accelerated learning pathways for academically able students.
